1043 Recordings is our multi-genre, in-house record label that has distributed our student, staff and alumni music productions into the global marketplace since January 2011.
Managed by our team of industry professionals, we will take you through the process of getting your music out there, even after you’ve finished studying with us. The team has over 30 years of industry experience, covering live performance, artist & record label management, which can give you the opportunity to experience the commercial world of music & media

While you’re a student (and after you’ve graduated), you can release your music on the label for free!
NO need for a DistroKid or a CD Baby account, 1043 Recordings is your own label – with all the benefits that come with it- and at no cost to you!
That’s right! 100% of all net revenue goes to you, the artist, performers and contributors! The label passes on any proceeds through a royalty statement generated using the music industry-recognised accounting platform, ‘Royalty Worx’, allowing you to invest in your creative future.
Your tracks will be mastered in-house, at no cost to you, in our state-of-the-art mastering studio.
Your music will be pitched for synchronisation using the Music Gateway platform and Woodwork Music Agency on release. This gives your music the chance to come alive in a film, on a TV Ad or even in a video game!
The world’s largest independent digital distribution partner for indie electronic music labels will get your music out there on all the major digital streaming platforms.
6UP Live is your chance to perform your songs live on stage. 1043 Recordings frequently promotes events where you can showcase your talents in front of an audience, IRL at acclaimed award-winning music venue, The Eagle Inn. A wide range of bands or artists and DJ performances, free drinks in a friendly atmosphere; all supplied by Futureworks’ students, graduates, and staff.
Riverside Live gives you an opportunity to perform one new song, two old songs and a cover version in the same vein as the BBC Live Lounge or Piano Room Sessions.
The performances are recorded, engineered, and then mixed by Futureworks students in our Neve VRL Studios. Even better is that students from the School of Film, TV & Media will capture and produce a music video for each band, which we will feature on our YouTube channel—and you can use for your own promotion, festival, and agent applications.
