Whatever kind of artist or producer you are, Riverside Live is a unique opportunity open to all Futureworks students and alumni.

At Riverside Live, you’ll perform three songs in our Neve VRL Studio, which will be recorded and mixed while being captured on film by a camera crew. This footage will be used to produce a video for social media channels, for submission to festivals, promoters, and agents.

1043 Recordings were very lucky to have captured a performance from Madame Claude in the Futureworks' Neve VRL studio during their upward trajectory in the nation's music psyche. In the words of Pauline Black, the legendary frontwoman of The Selecter, "The most exciting and original ska band in years!" Meet Madame Claude, a 5-piece band from Saddleworth, mixing ska, rocksteady, reggae and even disco to form their own inimitable style. Having already provided support to 2-tone legends The Selecter and The Beat, as well as other top bands such as Cast, The Dualers, and Bad Manners. They're currently playing venues around the country, from the Northeast down to London. Catch them live when you can. This October, we captured a mesmerising early performance of The Great Unwashed when they visited the Riverside Live Lounge. The band has developed a healthy reputation for its live shows and has performed live up and down the country. We were lucky to get a chance to capture these two tracks in the studio, ones to watch! We captured a moving acoustic recording of JeSuisJoe and Tom Knaggs when they visited the Riverside Live Lounge earlier this year. They both have solo ventures and are also members of the successful local band 25th Hour, in which Joe plays guitar and sings BVs, while Tom is their drummer. Tracklist: 1. Wishing You Well 2. This was David Gorman's final Major Project for his Music Production degree. We loved it so much that we wanted to share it. It's a perfect example of how a student can produce a well-rounded and fully developed work at Futureworks. Created at Futureworks, Mosely Street Campus, Class of 2013!

Shep is an alternative acoustic singer/songwriter. Born and raised in The Lake District, Shep moved to Manchester at 18, and since then, he has performed across the UK and developed a repertoire of roof-raising anthems and slow, singalong ballads. The new single, “Time & Time Again” is out now. Shep performs at the Riverside Live Lounge
Mickey Taylor didn't waste time easing into the music scene. At 21, he lent his vocals to Lana Del Rey's iconic "Video Games" and Virginia Wright's sassy "Professional," both in 2014. But Taylor wasn't content being just a featured voice. He unveiled his own raw emotions in the 2015 single "Pain," followed by the EP "Puppets Lament," collaborations with YouTube star Chris Crocker and producer Aleks Rey solidifying his musical identity. His sophomore album, "Midnight Palace," proved to be a game-changer. The success catapulted him onto a year-long UK tour; however, Taylor's artistry goes beyond catchy tunes. He shines a light on LGBT issues, actively supporting charities and using his platform to combat bullying and body image insecurities. 25th Hour perform Riverside Live Lounge
We're excited to work with Manchester's newest creative conference, Beyond The Music Conference, which is hosting an ‘Inspire’ day at The Hallé St Peter’s in Ancoats. A day of workshops and panels for everyone and anyone wanting to develop a career in the music industry, be it as artists, producers, managers, agents, label bosses or content creators. Attending Beyond The Music: Inspire is free, but you will need to register in advance. Topics to be covered will include an overview of how best to educate and prepare yourself for a career in the music industry, how to take your music from your bedroom to the world, how to use social media to develop your profile as an artist, producer, manager or label and how visual content creation is a key aspect of the modern music maker.
